Protecting and enhancing biodiversity is at the heart of our land management practices. We’re committed to creating thriving ecosystems where native species can regenerate and flourish. Here’s how we’re making that happen:
Biodiversity Hotspots
We’ve established over 200 hectares of dedicated biodiversity hotspots across the property. These areas are carefully chosen for their ecological value and are protected with deer fencing to allow natural regeneration of native vegetationwithout browsing pressure. Over time, these spaces will develop into rich, self-sustaining habitats for native flora and fauna.
Ongoing Pest Control
Introduced pests like possums, rats, and stoats pose a serious threat to native wildlife. That’s why we maintain an ongoing trapping program to reduce pest populations and relieve pressure on vulnerable species. This proactive approach is critical to giving native birds and plants the best chance to recover and thrive.
Passive Regeneration
Much of our land is under passive retirement, allowing nature to take the lead. In these areas, we step back and let native bush regenerate naturally, supported by fencing and pest control. This low-intervention strategy respects natural processes while steadily restoring biodiversity across the landscape.
